BUILDING FUTURES FOR AUSTRALIANS
The final stage of a formalised Mechanical Technician career pathway is now complete. Our Mechanical Technician development program is designed for both New Entrant and Existing Workers encompassing national qualifications.
The first phase was initiated with the opening of a Mechanical Practical Training Facility in Western Australia in mid-2018. Also, recently it was launched the National Mechanical Advanced Course where Fenner Dunlop’s Mechanical Technicians were able to develop valuable hands-on practical skills and experience in:
- Conducting adequate conveyor inspections
- Planning and scoping jobs
- Conveyor Maintenance tasks including essential metalwork
- Belt Tracking
- Advanced Trouble Shooting
Upon successful completion of the course, national certification is awarded by our Enterprise Registered Training Organisation with Certificate II in Process Manufacturing contextualised for Conveyor Maintenance.
“If we don’t continue investing in our employee’s development, moving forward, we might lack the skills required for a sustainable mining industry. I’m proud to be part of Fenner Dunlop, which sees a diverse range of Australians getting a fair go and becoming our future Supervisors, Coordinators, Managers and even Trainers for future generations” said Vicki Wust, General Manager for Safety, Training & Technical.
